About Claudia Lucke

Claudia Lucke (1985) is a Dutch street and documentary photographer based in Haarlem. With a background in tourism and leisure management, she began her career in the advertising industry before moving to rural Malawi, where she managed a lodge and discovered her passion for photography. Fascinated by human encounters and cultural identity, she developed her craft while cycling from Cape Town to Amsterdam,  documenting life along the way. Her work combines a love for travel with a strong sense of place and colour, often focusing on the tourism industry as a mirror of human curiosity and connection. Known for her use of bright, contrasting tones and storytelling perspective, Claudia’s work has been exhibited at Foam Amsterdam, where her series #iwasthere was a finalist for the Olympus Young Talent Award. She now divides her time between the Netherlands and abroad, developing autonomous series on tourism and everyday life.
